In a notable development, a 54-year-old male resident of Noida, Uttar Pradesh, has tested positive for COVID-19, marking the first case in several months in Gautam Buddh Nagar, officials reported. The patient, who works at a multinational company in Gurugram, remained asymptomatic and voluntarily underwent testing, according to Gautam Buddh Nagar Chief Medical Officer Dr Sunil Sharma.

The individual had recently travelled to Nepal and continued to work at his Gurugram office upon returning. Despite being asymptomatic, he took the responsible step of getting tested, leading to the confirmation of the virus's presence. District Surveillance Officer and public healthcare expert Dr Amit Kumar emphasised the importance of preventive measures such as hand hygiene, social distancing, the use of face masks, and the application of alcohol-based sanitizers.
