There are so many energy drinks and other instant drinks that you can find in the market advertised as safe for kids but they are not healthy as it seems. 7 Homemade Energy Drinks For Kids

Here are seven energy drinks for kids that can be easily made at home with all healthy and natural ingredients. Check these out and feed your child with some goodness.

Morning Starter drink

Since its summer holidays, kids run out in the morning itself. Most of the times they don’t eat breakfast but play for hours. In such a case, you can give them this morning energy drink to kickstart their day with some nutrition that also keeps them full for some hours.

  • In a blender, add a ripe banana, some yogurt, milk, almond powder or soaked almonds and roasted flax seeds powder.
  • Blend this well to make a smoothie.
  • You can add 1-2 ice cubes to make it chilled and refreshing.

Carrot and Orange Juice

If your kid is attending any summer activity, you must feed them good breakfast and then this juice which would help them keep hydrated and energized during the class.

Energy Drinks For Kids

  • Take fresh juice of one orange and one carrot.
  • Add 1 teaspoon of roasted flax seeds powder to this juice.
  • Mix well and give it to your kid.

NOTE FROM EXPERT:  Flaxseed powder as vitamin A is fat soluble and is a healthy fat and great for eyes.

Sattu

Sattu is a desi energy drink that is highly popular during scorching summer months.  Sattu is made with dry roasted bengal gram and/or barley. This powder is mixed with water and sugar, as per taste to make sattu drink which is supremely hydrating, cooling and energizing. However, kids might not find it pleasant enough to please their palates. In such a case, you can mix flavoured glucose powder or rose syrup to make it tasty. This way, it would remain healthy and becomes palatable too.

Phalsa Sherbet

Phalsa is a summer fruit with tiny purple red berries with a sweet & tangy flavour. These are grown in northern India particularly Uttar Pradesh. These might look wild but they offer some amazing health benefits for one and all. Make Phalsa sherbet with berries, water, some sugar/honey and lemon juice. This is the ultimate energy drink for people of all ages including kids.

Mango Lassi

Wondering how to make energy drinks at home? Well, here is the easiest recipe you can ever make. Lassi or sweet yogurt drink is something that we all love to have during summers. With with yogurt, some cooling essence(like rose and kevda), sugar and nuts, lassi is the best desi drink to keep your stomach cool during the hot weather.

You can make mango lassi for your child as a great replacement to bottled energy drinks. Simply mix some mango pulp with lassi and it is done!

Banana Smoothie

This is another easy drink that works as both breakfast as well as mid-morning snack. If your child is not in a mood to eat, you can prepare this easy and quick banana smoothie. It fulfills nutritional requirements for your child.

  • In a blender add 2 ripe bananas, milk, almond powder or soaked almonds and some ice cubes.
  • Blend well to make a thick smoothie.
  • You can add more milk or water to make it slightly runny, depending on your child’s liking.

Mixed Fruit Smoothie

If your kid hates eating fruits, you can make this mixed fruit smoothie for them which does taste great(not like fruits) and very nutritious. You can put any fruit to make this smoothie. Better add all the seasonal fruits available to give them utmost nutrition.
