Heart Disease Is The Biggest Killer Across The Globe, Says Dr Ashok Seth

More than 80 per cent of heart attacks is now happening below the age of 40. Times are gone when heart problems were only limited to old age. As compared to the West, where there is a decrease of 50 per cent in deaths due to heart diseases,  the numbers are pretty much alarming in India. In India, there is a rise of 300 per cent of deaths due to heart diseases in the last 30 years. Cardiovascular diseases, also known as CVDs, are the primary cause of mortality in India as well as globally. Do you know the reason for CVDs? It is due to the disorders of the blood vessels and heart, which also includes cerebrovascular disease (stroke), peripheral artery disease, raised blood pressure (hypertension), coronary heart disease (heart attacks), heart failure, congenital heart disease, and rheumatic heart disease.
