To keep the heart healthy and active, one must eat a heart-healthy diet. Such a diet according to Dr Hassan Tehrani, Endo Vascular Surgeon, ARTEMIS, should include large amounts of fruits and vegetables compared with what you consume usually. Some of the food sources that one must exclude from daily consumption include those that are high in cholesterol and Trans fats. Some of the sources of trans fats include bakery products, deep-fried fast foods, margarines, packaged snack foods and crackers. Avoid cooking food in animal oil instead use olive or vegetable oil, which are a healthier alternative to animal oil.
