Facing a hair follicle drug test means that you are involved in something serious. That’s why finding the best hair follicle detox shampoo to make sure you pass is so vital.
It’s going to be for a good job, or significant promotion. It could be something to do with probation, medical, or even important insurance purposes. The hair drug test is expensive, and not just done for any old reason.
So what I’m going to do here is talk you through everything you need to know to successfully pass a hair drug test.
It’s not easy. Drug metabolites work differently in hair, and the way hair drug testing is done is also different and therefore more dangerous.
But with the right hair detox shampoo for your drug test, and the right method, then it is possible to learn how to pass a hair follicle drug test successfully.

Here’s How Drug Metabolites Get Into Your Hair
When you take drugs of any type, illegal or not, waste cell products called metabolites are formed as the drug is processed.
These drug metabolites first appear in blood in saliva, before working their way out of the body through your skin, stools, and urine.
While in blood, they can get stuck to cells around the body, which means they take time to detach and work their way out. Some get stuck in the hair follicles.
As the hair shaft grows out of the scalp, those metabolites are trapped in the follicles, and fed into the area to supply the growth via the bloodstream. They are trapped between the inner cortex and the protective outside cuticle layer of the hair.
This is why hair drug testing is so problematic. As the hair continually grows, you are basically recording your drug use; which then sits there in every single hair on your body as an indelible record.
Why Drug Metabolites Are Difficult To Remove From Hair
I just touched on this, but the reason why drug metabolites are difficult to remove from hair is that they get trapped underneath the outer layer of the hair.
Each strand of hair on your head has an outer layer formed from thousands of microscopic overlapping scales. This protects the inner cortex layer of the hair, and gives it the strength and flexibility it needs.
This layer partly opens at certain times. When it gets wet, the hair increases in volume, because the cuticle layer opens slightly.
But in order to get rid of drug metabolites you have to fully open the cuticle layer, then flush out every single microscopic metabolite, and shut the cuticle layer up again. All without damaging anything during the process.
Are All Types Of Drug Picked Up In A Hair Drug Test?
Everything which creates a metabolite, or an active ingredient, that enters the bloodstream, will get trapped in the hair as it grows.
So yes, all types of drugs could potentially be picked up during a hair drug test, both illegal and legal drugs. But it depends on what the drug test is actually looking for.
For example, no standard drug testing in the USA today looks for kratom. So although those metabolites would appear in the hair shaft, if they are not tested for then they will not be found.
The basic hair follicle drug test in the USA today is the five panel one, the same as a urine test, which looks for the following:
- Opiates
- PCP
- Cocaine
- THC
- Amphetamines
However, this is where you have to understand how dangerous an assumption could be. You cannot assume it will be a five panel test.
With urine drug testing, you’re probably going for a basic job or something like that. It’s most likely to be a cheap five panel test.
But, because hair drug testing is so much more expensive than urine testing, you cannot trust that the company/person commissioning it is only going to go with the basic five panel test. If they want a more invasive test, then there’s a good chance they will look for more types of metabolite.
So you have to assume that if you are facing a hair drug test then almost every type of drug that drug tests look for could be found, as you will not know how many panels have been commissioned.
How Long Do Drug Metabolites Stay In Your Hair – How Long Detectable?
As you’ve already learned, drug metabolites stay in hair for as long as it’s attached to your body.
But here’s the thing. When they take a sample, they will cut their hair right next to the skin. They will then only test the length that most recently grown.
They test the length equal to 90 days growth. So you will only ever be tested for your last 90 days history. They cannot use anything beyond that.
So if you haven’t taken drugs in the previous 90 days, you will be fine. If you have, then you will definitely fail.
Do Not Think About Shaving Your Hair To Escape Detection
If you turned up for an interview with a full head of hair, and then reported to a drug testing lab three days later completely bald, do you think you would get the job?
On top of the obvious problem, shaving your head wouldn’t solve anything anyway.
Body hair can be used as well. Although it’s shorter, it grows slower. That means it still records drug use at the same pace.
If you shaved off every single hair on your body, what then? Well, they would simply say they couldn’t do the test and you would have to explain to the person who is commissioned it why you shaved your entire body.
Plus, they could always do urine, saliva, and blood testing instead. Just don’t bother, you will make yourself look ridiculous.

Drug Detox Shampoos That Don’t Work
Now we have covered the basics about what could happen with a hair drug test, let’s talk about the detox shampoos for drug tests that don’t work.
These are mostly hair follicle detox shampoo in stores, rather than from specialist websites.
These are the hair shampoos I know definitely do not work to get rid of drug metabolites:
- High Voltage hair follicle cleanser
- Detox test shampoo
- Oasis detox shampoo
- Macujo Aloe Rid shampoo
Let me cover the last one, because it’s important.
Nexxus sold a strong clarifying shampoo called Aloe rid. It was very potent and many people used it to get rid of drug metabolites. But it was so powerful it burnt scalps, and eventually they changed the formula.
For years, you could buy the old formula online at ridiculous prices. As the supplies dried up, people faked it.
Recently, some company introduced Macujo Aloe rid shampoo. Clearly, it’s pretending to be the same, even calling it “old style”.
Plus, Macujo is the name of the Macujo method, the only real way you can pass a hair follicle drug test (which I will talk you through in a moment).
So by calling it Macujo Aloe rid shampoo, and charging nearly $200, they are hoping to rope you in. This stuff is crap. It is not the real deal, is not the original formula, and it should be avoided.
Also, I know that High Voltage doesn’t work either. I know a co-worker failed a hair drug test using it. Like me, they smoked a bit of weed, and when they were up for hair drug test to get a promotion, they used it and failed dismally.
The Detox Shampoo For A Drug Test That Really Works Is: Old Style Aloe Toxin Rid
As I’ve just mentioned, the original Nexxus Aloe rid shampoo was potent. On its own, with low levels of toxins in the hair, it was potent enough to remove them.
So if you have really low levels of toxins in the hair, and you’ve only had a couple of joints in the past three months, then Aloe Toxin Rid would work for you.
But as I’ve said, it hasn’t been made for years. There are fakes, and there are products trying to pretend they are the same.
There is only one place you can get it now. It’s Testclear.com.
They have recreated the exact original formula. It’s called Test Clear “old style” Aloe Toxin Rid shampoo. You can only buy it from Test Clear. It’s exactly the same as the old formula, and the only one potent enough to remove drug toxins.
However, if you have higher levels of toxins in your hair because you are a more regular user or smoker, then it won’t work on its own.
You need a method. There are two that work, so let’s talk you through them now, so you can see exactly how the best hair follicle detox shampoo needs to be combined with a method to work.
Two Methods Which Can Get All The Drug Toxins Out Of Your Hair
There are only two methods which can really get drug toxins out of your hair. They use specialist and everyday ingredients to open up the hair shaft and flush out the toxins.
The first method is called the “Jerry G method”. Apparently named after the guy who created it and published it online.
It’s not actually particularly clever, but it blasts the toxins out of your hair with a chemical nuclear weapon. You hit your hair with several doses of ammonia bleach. Combined with the other products, it does get rid of the toxins.
However, it can damage the cuticle layer, and burned the hair and scalp. That can lead to temporary hair loss, and in some extreme circumstances, some patchy permanent loss.
Overall, it’s not the method I would recommend; and when I researched it, I was adamant it was not the way I was going to go.
That leaves the second method, which is called the Macujo method. Much milder, it uses the potency of Aloe Toxin Rid shampoo as the base. Alongside a few safe household ingredients it has the potency to squeeze open the cuticle layer fully, then condition and close it after.

The Macujo Method: How To Pass A Hair Follicle Drug Test
So in my experience, the only way to pass a hair follicle drug test reasonably is to use the Macujo method. Let’s run through it now so that you can see how it works.
First, you’ll need to gather the elements you will need to complete the Macujo method:
- Old-style Aloe toxin rid shampoo from test clear
- Zydot Ultra Klean detox shampoo
- Good quality white vinegar
- Tide detergent (or similar)
- Clean & Clear Pink salicylic shampoo (or similar)
- Rubber gloves
- Rubber swimming hat or clingfilm
- Large sink or bath
- Good supply of warm water
Once you’ve gathered the ingredients, you need to understand how long it takes complete.
This isn’t a one-off thing. It cannot flush out all the toxins in one run through. You’ll need to do it at least six times. Once per day in the week leading up to your test.
If you have less time than that, you’ll need to complete it twice per day. But a minimum of four times to stand any chance of success even as a moderate user.
For me, if you’ve got the time, do it seven times. Once per day, in the seven days leading up to a possible drug test. Once per day also gives your hair a bit more time to recover between runs.
Right, let’s talk you through the Macujo method in a little more detail:
Step 1:
Wet your hair with warm water and then apply a good amount of the white wine vinegar to it. Work it right down to the roots. This will sting a bit. Don’t worry though, it’s not going to harm you.
Step 2:
With the white wine vinegar still in place, then apply a good portion of the salicylic shampoo. Again, work into the roots. It will really be stinging by now, stick with it.
Step 3:
Use the rubber swimming hat, or tightly wound clingfilm around your head, to keep the hair in place and tightly together. That ensures every part of the scalp and hair will get covered, and leave it to work for 30 minutes.
Step 4:
Wash everything out with plenty of warm water until your hair is squeaky clean. Then, apply a good amount of the Aloe Rid shampoo. Again, work in thoroughly to the roots of the hair. Leave it for 15 minutes, and then wash out with warm water.
Step 5:
Repeat step four. Again, leave the shampoo in for 15 minutes. Then wash it out with plenty of warm water. Lightly towel dry your hair.
Step 6:
The final step of each run through is to apply a small amount of Tide liquid detergent, or similar. Really work it in until your hair “squeaks”. Leave it for five minutes, then wash that out with plenty of warm water as well.
Final step before your test:
You’ll time your final run through the Macujo method for a couple of hours before you leave. But around an hour before you leave, after you have got dressed, you’ll want to make sure there are no stray toxins on your head at all. You’ll use the Zydot Ultra Klean shampoo for final quick rinse to ensure your head and scalp are toxin free.
Where To Buy The Best Hair Follicle Detox Shampoo
The Macujo method is invasive and time consuming. However, it’s the only way that is recognized generally online to genuinely remove all of the toxins in your hair with multiple run through. It’s certainly my experience as well.
Let me finish here by telling you exactly where you can buy this best detox shampoo so that you can pass a hair follicle drug test. Let me warn you, the Test Clear Aloe Toxin rid shampoo is not cheap. It costs $235 for a bottle.
For that price you will also get the Zydot Ultra Klean bundled in free, saving you around $50.
Don’t baulk at the price. It’s the only way to pass. Think about it. If it’s a hair drug test then this is important. This is not some throwaway job or situation.
For less than 300 bucks you’ll be getting all the products you need to almost guarantee that you pass that important hair drug test. You can’t cut corners on this, nothing else will work. You can purchase the Aloe Rid detox shampoo&Zydot Ultra Clean from Testclear.com.
The Jerry G method isn’t that much cheaper. It will still cost around $200 for all the ingredients. Plus, all that bleach and ammonia means that you could permanently damage your scalp, and leave your hair brittle.
Also you have to think about detection. If you turn up your hair drug test and the hair is obviously damaged, bleached, and guide, then it’s obvious you’ve tried to evade the test. They may refuse to do it and you’ll have to explain what the hell was going on to the person who commissioned it.
So stick with the Macujo method and the best detox shampoo you’ll need to achieve it, because it just works.
